I'm giving microgreens a shot for the first time and I went with chia seed microgreens. I'd love to hear any tips or advice on how to make em thrive

I guess just use a shallow tray with good drainage :) And when you spread after soaking the seeds, make sure to do it evenly. And then mist it daily, just a little moisture would do it doesn't have to be soggy. Best of luck!

Chia micros sprout fast, usually in about 8 to 12 days and get to around 2 to 3 inches tall. In addition to the post above, just keep the soil damp, make sure there's good airflow, and when you're ready to harvest, just snip them off above the soil. You can keep them in a container in the fridge for up to a week. How's your setup coming along?

Just to add, once they start sprouting and showing little green, move them to a spot with good light. A sunny windowsill is great, or even a simple grow light if you have one

Go easy on watering too, a misting bottle works best and please don't overbseed or you'll get mold. Keep them covered for the first few days to help with even germination

I'm really interested to know if it was successful. For a long time I've been wanting to plant some chia seeds but i wasn't sure if they'll thrive. How it went with yours?

Thanks for the tips! Do you find they grow better in coco coir or soil? And have you tried using a humidity dome or grow light to speed things up?

got a couple of tips that I think are important for beginners. first, no pre soaking! Unlike many other microgreens, chia seeds don't need or like to be pre soaked because of that mucilage. Just spread them dry.
then you should know that even Seeding is key, you need to sprinkle them as evenly as possible across your growing medium. If they clump up, they can get moldy or grow unevenly
